Dear Residents, Here’s a brief snippet of what our Smethwick Neighbourhood Team have been up to this week: PCSO’s for the St Pauls area have also attended a community day at the Brasshouse engaging with our local communities who attended this event offering advice and support where needed. St Paul PCSO's have conducted a talk about scam awareness to local communities who attended the brass house on this day advice was given on how not to trust online shopping or people who phone your house asking for bank details for parcels that you have not ordered or via text message claiming you have a package waiting for you requesting payment via private links that are sent to you. St Pauls PCSO’s have had a meeting with the events manager at the Hawthorns football ground in relation to Greggs in response to complaints around people begging outside Greggs nearby we are currently working on solutions together and offering support to the homeless peoples and working around long-term intervention plans. St Pauls PCSO’s have conducted a cuppa with a copper at St Alban’s community centre which is focused around engaging with local people. During this visit we have spoken to staff members About if they are any other members of the community who attend this community centre to let us know if they need our support and we will offer support where we can speak to a partnership agency. Officers have conducted patrols all over Cape Hill high Street Smethwick high Street, Bearwood high Street, St Pauls High Street, detecting and preventing all unlawful behaviour to keep our local communities safe and reassured. These patrols will continue for the foreseeable future. We continue to work with the shops and their security staff If you happen to be shopping and see something suspicious that doesn’t look quite right, tell a member of the store staff or security – we all need to work together to stop these people. Remember – don’t ever approach someone you suspect. Your safety is important. Smethwick town officers have been conducting Partnership working with Sandwell Civil Enforcement Officers traffic wardens tackling anti-social behaviour and unlawful inconsiderate parking Smethwick town PCSOs have conducted a Street watch walk in the St Pauls area which was successfully as we Reassured the local communities who spoke to us during our patrols and who thanked us for all our hard work. Smethwick town PCSO’s have conducted visits to places of worship across Smethwick reassuring our local communities who attend places of worship. Smethwick town PCSO's Have conducted Early morning school patrols have been taking place in order to support the families who are walking to school with their young children make sure there are no obstructions blocking their views and people park suitably and not in considerably which will restrict the views of the parents who were walking the children to school. The neighbourhood team would like to thank everyone who has supported us this week namely partnership agencies Street watch walkers and coordinators and our local businesses also the wider community. We are all very grateful to the wider community of Smethwick and we shall continue all our great work together. |
